Learn about the Different Neighborhoods, Subdivisions and Areas in and around Silver City, New Mexico

Downtown/University

Hands down, this is the most happening area in Silver City. Downtown is cool, artsy, unusual and popular. This section includes information on downtown, homes around the university, historic area, and the "hills": Boston Hill, Chihuahua Hill and Brewer Hill.

To the North
The northern part of Silver City is one of the most popular areas because of the mountain views, taller trees and more country "feel". There are several popular subdivisions in this area, all showcasing beautiful larger homes, including: Dos Griegos, Indian Hills, Cold Springs, Hidden Springs, Copper Ridge, and Copper Hills.

To the West
There are less homes to the west of Silver City though the area is geographically beautiful. These areas include the Wind Canyon and Oakwood Estate subdivisions, both within 10 minutes from the city limits. A little further out there is the secluded subdivision of Oak Grove. Also to the west is the gorgeous, green Mangus Valley and the small towns of Cliff and Gila.

To the East
To the northeast, there are many nice homes on larger lots off of Hwy 15 which leads up to historic Pinos Altos. Due east, there is a lot of newly-available land in XYZ Ranch, beautiful older homes in Sunrise Estates, and a very rural feel to the area of Rosedale Rd and Arenas Valley.

To the South
Going south from Silver City there are many lovely areas with a more open, desert-y feel and many have great view of mountains. Some of the subdivisions include: Silver Acres, the mine-built town of Tyrone, newly subdivided land at Oak Country, and beautiful nice homes in Loma Blanca and Chisholm Ranch.
